Developer Moustoifa Moumini — an Apple ecosystem specialist and XR enthusiast — recently introduced NFTVisionAR, an innovative app that blends augmented reality with the world of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) on the Apple Vision Pro. The concept of the app is to bring digital NFT artworks into physical space: with Vision Pro, users can visualize their NFT art pieces as if they were displayed in their real environment, adding a new dimension to collecting and enjoying digital art. For example, someone could see a digital painting they own hanging virtually on their living room wall through the headset, as if a futuristic picture frame has placed it there.

Overcoming development challenges without the headset

Moumini shared some of the challenges he faced while building NFTVisionAR. Developing for Vision Pro meant adhering to Apple’s new spatial computing guidelines and tools — all without having the actual headset on hand, since the device wasn’t available during the development phase. The developer had to rely on Apple’s simulators and documentation to ensure the app met standards and would perform well once on real hardware. Despite these hurdles, Moumini is optimistic about the future of NFTs and Web 3.0 in extended reality. He views technologies like Vision Pro as an opportunity to give digital assets new life and context in the real world.

More features on the horizon, and a new market

Looking ahead, he plans to expand NFTVisionAR with additional features such as 3D interactive elements and music to enrich the viewing experience of each NFT. He is even considering founding a company to further explore the Vision Pro app market, signaling that he sees long-term potential in this space. NFTVisionAR’s early success (the app was ready by the Vision Pro’s launch) demonstrates how emerging developers are already imagining creative uses for spatial computing, merging digital art with our physical surroundings. In the future, crypto-art collectors might even host virtual art galleries at home — visible only through a headset, but every bit as impressive as a real-world exhibition.
